The Zodiac Killer, (aka The Zodiac, or Zodiac) is the pseudonym of a serial killer who terrorized Northern California from 1963 to 1978, with a confirmed minimum of five victims; claiming to have killed dozens in one letter.
He is significant to cryptography due to the abundance of ciphers he left behind in letters to the media and police department, many of which have not been solved to the present day.
